In a surprising turn of events, may be reintroducing rare and hard-to-obtain items, such as the coveted Reins of the Kor’kron War Wolf, through the Trading Post.

If this speculation proves true, it could mark a significant departure from the game’s longstanding tradition of keeping exclusive items unattainable after their initial availability periods.

World of Warcraft boasts a plethora of items locked behind challenging achievements, with notable examples being the prestigious Ahead of the Curve mounts rewarded for completing Heroic raids during their relevant expansion.

One such mount, the Reins of the Kor’kron War Wolf, gained legendary status after its exclusive availability in the Siege of Orgrimmar raid during the Mists of Pandaria expansion.

Recent discoveries on the World of Warcraft Public Test Realm have sparked rumours of the War Wolf’s return. The mount now exhibits a Trader’s Tender cost, typically associated with items featured in the Trading Post’s monthly catalog.

While the cost of 7,899 seems likely to be a placeholder, its mere presence hints at the possibility of obtaining this revered mount once again, nearly a decade after its initial release.

Renowned WoW content creator MrGM uncovered similar evidence regarding the Ichabod pet, which also received a Trader’s Tender cost in the same patch.

Unlike the Kor’kron War Wolf, Ichabod was initially obtainable in late 2022 through the Support a Streamer program on Twitch, involving gifting two subscriptions.

This development suggests that Ichabod might follow suit and make a return through the Trading Post in the future.

If these items indeed become available through the Trading Post, World of Warcraft would break new ground by allowing players to obtain Ahead of the Curve mounts after their initial exclusivity periods.

This shift in approach could hold promise for both new and returning players who missed out on these coveted items over the years.

However, the community’s response is divided, with a majority welcoming the opportunity to acquire long-lost mounts, while a vocal minority argues that it diminishes the prestige associated with these exclusive items.

The ongoing debate within the World of Warcraft community reflects differing opinions on the value of exclusivity and prestige in the game.

Until Blizzard reveals its official plans for these items, players will remain in suspense, uncertain of whether these once-exclusive treasures will indeed re-enter the game and, if so, how they will be obtained.
