From the new trailer that was released, we get to see a scene with a dynamic plot. And shows the teamwork of the anti-hero team with both conflict and cooperation in difficult situations. In the revealed scene, John Walker, Ghost, and Yelena are in Alexi’s Red Guardian car. They are trying to escape from the attack of the soldiers who are chasing them. At the same time, Yelena is trying to shoot at a truck that is in their path. Suddenly, the truck explodes. We see Bucky Barnes riding a motorcycle to help them at that moment. It is a movement full of excitement and non-stop action.

What is interesting in this scene is that Bucky Barnes still has the ability to ride a motorcycle agilely. Which makes the audience unable to not connect to the scene in Captain America: Civil War. When he stole a motorcycle to escape from the pursuit of T’Challa (played by Chadwick Boseman) and his group. Although it is a scene with high tension and full of fear, in Thunderbolts, Bucky has become a character with more important movements to help the team. But in the end, it is found that he was the one who destroyed their car. Which adds complexity to the relationship in the team very well.

The complexity of the Thunderbolts team

The specialty of Thunderbolts is not only in the exciting action scenes. But it also lies in the complexity of the team’s dynamics, which are filled with characters with different backgrounds and decisions that are not easily predictable. The examples we see in the new trailer give a glimpse into the team. For example, Yelena and Ghost joke about the fact that John Walker was once Captain America, which shows the disagreements and infighting within the team, where John Walker is not accepted by the other members and the leadership struggle creates tensions within the team.

The conversation between Alexi and Bucky about Bucky’s Super Soldier serum is another interesting point, as it reveals Bucky’s past involving the Super Soldier serum, which has changed his life significantly, which will play a major role in the character’s decisions in the story. There’s also Bob, who doesn’t seem to have his full abilities revealed yet, but as he reintroduces himself to the team, we may see his development and identity revealed in the future.

However, as the team fights and works together, the role of Valentina Alegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) cannot be overlooked, as she is the one who brings these antiheroes together. However, in the new trailer, we see her refer to Alexi as “Red Santa,” which shows a certain degree of unfamiliarity with him. And it may be the beginning of the revelation of some secrets later.
