Recently, set photos of “The Conjuring: Last Rites” have surfaced, in which Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson return once again as Lorraine and Ed Warren. These photos are exciting for any fan, as everyone is waiting for the fourth film in the franchise. I personally am very curious to know what is going to happen this time. Filming began in September and it is heartwarming to know that it will be finished by the end of this month.
“TheConjuring.Updates” on Instagram has shared photos of the set. In these photos, Farmiga is smiling with a pink umbrella, and Wilson looks a little worried. His expression suggests that something serious is going to happen. I think the photos are great. There is a hearse in the background, which makes it look like they are going to a funeral. These pictures give some clues about the story of the film.
Recently in “The Nun II” we got to see a mid-credit scene of Ed and Lorraine, in which they are given some terrifying information. This information can definitely be a reference to “The Conjuring: Last Rites”. This film can not only connect their previous cases but also bring a finale to the demonic presence. It thrills me to think if this film will bring the whole franchise together.
Not much is known about the plot of the film yet. But I have heard that the previous films have used the real cases of Ed and Lorraine. So, I hope the next installment will follow the same framework. The film may include the ghost of the Smurl family and the Union Cemetery case. These ideas excite me a lot, as all these events are already a part of the franchise.
However, there might be some new twists this time. Being the final film, I think the makers might take some liberties. Some of the things that actually happened can be seen again.
