Tata Motors' Harrier EV Debuts with 5 Innovative Features to Redefine EVs

Tata Motors has recently launched the Harrier EV in the Indian market. Its initial X-showroom price is Rs 21.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The full price list is yet to be completed. More than 5 new features have been introduced in this electric SUV, which are first for any Tata car, and also in this segment. These new features make Harrier EV an important offering in the electric vehicle segment.

To improve the driving experience, Harrier EV is equipped with many advanced technologies. It includes a 360-degree Camera with Transparent Mode which adds a 540-degree camera function, giving an image below the car. It helps the driver while walking on off-road paths or big pits. The Harrier EV mass-market segment has the first electric car with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup, with one motor on each axle.

Instead of Standard Harrier’s 3, it contains 6 multi-terrain modes, including Normal, Mud Ruts, Rock Crawl, Sand, Snow/Grass and Custom modes. These modes adjust power delivery, traction control and throttle response to help navigate difficult paths.

Also there are important updates in the interior of the Harrier EV. It has a Large 14.5-inch Infotainment System, which is the largest for any Tata car. This is Samsung’s Neo QLED display, which provides a sharp and clear viewing experience. Comparatively, the Standard Harrier comes with a 12.3-inch display.

As a security feature, it has a Digital IRVM, whose feed comes from an additional camera mounted in the shark fin antenna. It gives a clear view of the back and also has a recording function, making it also work as a dashcam.

To make the convenience and parking easier, Harrier EV provides some useful features. It has an Auto-Park Assist function which helps the driver to park SUV without giving any input to the throttle and steering wheel. This feature has also been seen in the latest electric SUVs like Mahindra’s BE 6 and XEV 9e.

Another new and useful feature is Summon Mode. This allows the driver to move the car forward and backward using the key remote, which can be particularly helpful in tight parking places. This feature is first for any Tata car.
