Royal Enfield is preparing to launch several electric and hybrid motorcycle models in India in the next few years. The company is working on its first entirely electric motorcycle, which will be offered under the Flying Flea sub-brand. The first two electric Royal Enfield motorcycles called Flying Flea C6 and Flying Flea S6 have already been shown in EICMA 2024. C6 has also been showcased in many Indian cities like Delhi, Gurgaon and Bengaluru.
Talking about Flying Flea C6, it was seen for the first time during the trial on Indian roads. Royal Enfield has confirmed that C6 will be available in India for sale before March 2026. Some notable features include Girder front suspension, round LED headlamp, colored touchscreen digital instrument console, rides modes, OTA updates, and voice assist.
Although technical specifications have not yet been revealed, the Flying Flea C6 to a performance equivalent to 250-300cc ICE motorcycle. The e-motorcycle will have a fixed battery pack which will be compatible with fast charging. The exact range figures on full charge are not in public domains right now, but range is expected around 200-220 km.
Removing from the image of its traditional cruiser/adventure motorcycle manufacturer, the company is also working on a small 250cc hybrid motorcycle for India. This new entry-level bike will come with hybrid technology in India. Royal Enfield will source 250cc engine from China-based CFMoto. This new bike will be positioned below Hunter 350 and is expected to be priced at approximately Rs 1.30 lakh (ex-showroom).
This Royal Enfield 250cc Hybrid motorcycle has been claimed to be giving mileage of 50+ kmpl. It will be local construction at the company factory in Chennai, with the local content being around 85-90 percent. The development of the 250cc platform is underway and the company has given it internal V codename. If everything went well, we could ultimately see the new RE 250 hybrid bike by the middle of 2027. Flying Flea S6, which is a Scrambler and will share underpinings with C6, will be available for sale by the end of 2026.
