This news has thrills coming from the massively popular franchise. Nick Frost has heaped praise on mass of that act-mason Thames, who is to play Hiccup in the new live-action adaptation of How to Train Your Dragon, which will be screened soon, set for release early next year, June 13, 2025.

At Collider, Frost-the voice of Gobber the Belch, Hiccup’s loyal friend and mentor-promised viewers: “I was just excited to work with him. He’s such a naturally funny performer. We have a lot of scenes together, so it was great to play off each other.” Frost also highlighted how Thames handled spontaneous exchanges so well, something fans of the animated series will recognize.

Even not when we’re shooting, just watching him, watching how his body works is so weird and funny, and he has funny bones and he’s lovely. I got to meet his family a lot and they’re all lovely, and you can see why he’s as grounded as he is when you see where he comes from. We had a lot of scenes together, and there wasn’t one thing that I did during a scene that was unscripted that ruffled him at all. He just loved it. He loved to improvise. We loved to improvise together. I was like, ‘Hey, why don’t we try this?’ And he’d be like, ‘Yeah, let’s do it!’

Chemistry between Frost and Thames is promising, particularly because of Frost’s experience in improvised humor that has been developed through his collaborations with Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright. Thus, familiar moments blended with new surprises can be very well expected. The on-screen relationship will be considerably augmented by the genuine rapport existing among the actors, hence in their characters also.

With the buzz building for the live-action remake of How to Train Your Dragon, perhaps Frost’s vocal stamp of approval for Thames will temper some of the fears over the trend of live-action adaptations. Certainly, fresh approach and a promising cast Nico Parker, Julian Dennison, and Gerard Butler returns to play the role of Stoick the Vast, places it perfectly placed both appeal to fans long set in their seats and newcomers alike.
