This time Tom Cavanagh, who has no problem playing the role of Reverse-Flash in the Arrowverse. Looks like he’s not refusing to step into that yellow suit again, but this time, he’s looking for a place in James Gunn‘s DC Universe.
If you’ve been keeping track of the DC UE film timeline and The Flash series, you’ll know that they’ve ended their ongoing series. So, when Tom Cavanagh spoke about his interest in reprising the role of Eobard Theon, fans went wild.
But here’s the bombshell: Kavanaugh isn’t just dropping hints. No, he’s directly called James Gunn, co-CEO of DC Studios, with a playful look, saying he’s open to plunging into the DC Universe if Gunn has fun.
Of course, the Internet being what it is, it made everyone cry almost at the same time, “Hey, Gunn, what’s Kavanaugh’s reverse-flash petition?” Started saying. And what is this till now? Gunn replied, and that too with an emoji. The dude just laughed, which tells me he’s probably getting entertainment from this superhero crossover conversation.
And listen, this isn’t the first time that a new face from The Flash show is planning to join the DC Universe soundtrack. Grant Gustin has already hinted that he would go back to his red speedster suit if called to the gun. Looks like Gunn has a lot of potential heroes and villains arriving at his door. Who knows who will join the party next?

The Flash Future in the James Gunn’s DC Universe
We’ll bring you news about The Flash in DC Universe’s latest lineup. You know Gunn is making an interesting lineup of Justice League heroes by having them appear in movies and TV shows, right? But strangely, Flash seems to be missing from the Chapter 1 lineup called “Gods and Monsters.”
Why? Some people say it might have something to do with the Flash movie flopping at the box office and receiving so much criticism from critics. But it doesn’t look like Ezra Miller will reprise the role, so no one knows if that’s true. And there’s also speculation about a new Flash movie that might be hidden up Gun and Saffron’s sleeves.
It looks like Flash has been on the back burner for a while now. I’ll probably wait until I get a chance to do a solo run again before appearing as a subtitle character in other heroes’ stories. DC Studios may be considering whether to continue using Barry Allen or hand the role over to someone else, like Wally West. In particular, Barry has been in the spotlight for a long time.
Remember the Flash family concept from the TV show? It was golden. DC could focus on heroes of varying speeds rather than sticking to just one. So maybe Barry and Wally will be sharing the screen soon, especially with the rumors going around for a Teen Titans movie—that’s Wally’s domain.
