Australian actor Jacob Elordi, widely known for his role in Euphoria, is in the midst of a controversy after an alleged assault on a reporter in his home country. The incident occurred as Elordi returned to Australia to attend the upcoming Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Awards.
According to reports from the Sunday Telegraph, the actor had been staying at the Clovelly Hotel when he encountered a reporter from KIIS FM. The reporter, identified as Fox, approached Elordi with a series of questions, leading to a heated exchange between the two. Sources suggest that Elordi became infuriated with the line of questioning, resulting in the reported altercation.

The New South Wales Police spokesperson confirmed the incident, stating that officers from the Eastern Beaches Police Area Command are currently investigating the alleged assault outside a hotel in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney. The police were contacted around 3:30 pm on February 3 regarding a 26-year-old man allegedly assaulting a 32-year-old man, with Fox reportedly sustaining no injuries.
It remains uncertain whether Jacob Elordi will attend the AACTA Awards on February 10, where he is nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Award for his role in the black comedy film Saltburn.
The actor, originally from Brisbane, recently hosted an episode of Saturday Night Live on January 20 and portrayed Elvis Presley in the 2023 biopic Priscilla, directed and written by Sofia Coppola. Despite recent rumours of a breakup, Elordi is said to be dating YouTuber Olivia Jade Giannulli, and the couple appears to be keeping a low profile, staying out of the public eye. The unfolding investigation into the alleged assault adds a new layer of scrutiny to Elordi’s public image.
