The Black Phone 2, which is currently in development, just received another new update in the form of director Scott Derrickson, who took to Twitter to share behind-the-scenes photos from the filming, confirming that the project had officially begun. Nothing else but the film’s logo on the director’s chair and a caption stating that the sequel will do away with the “The” in the title, giving the impression that “Black Phone 2” is the title for the sequel. Although images are not very detailed, they are enough to make fans excited about the sequel.

Return of characters and cast
It has also been reported that character returns of the main actors in the first film, wherein the main characters in the first film, particularly The Grabber, were portrayed by Ethan Hawke, are expected to be present throughout the plot of the second film. Indeed, the final scene already established that The Grabber will be dead at the end, but news broke about his coming back again in the next film where he can start a whole new storyline involving the Grabber character. Only time will tell how Derrickson and the team are going to deal with the return of this character.
Another huge news in this context was also that other leads of the film, Finney (Mason Thames) and Gwen (Madeleine McGraw) are to be reprised as well, most probably because of the huge popularity for both in the first part of the movie, apart from characters like Terrence Shaw (Jeremy Davies), Robin (Miguel Mora) that will follow into the storyline. Damián Bichir, who also appeared in the sequel, will appear in this, although his role has not been announced and fans must speculate over what role he will undertake in the movie.

Production Development
The Black Phone 2 is in production, and as of now, it is only just starting to roll into production. Of course, director Derrickson hasn’t spilled the beans about the plot of the sequel, and neither has the cast and crew about where the story goes from here. So far, all fans have gotten from the production team is that familiar characters from the first film are returning, and filming has started.
This would be thrilling for the viewers because the main characters that appeared in the first movie are returning, but much is not known about what the storyline of the second installment will be. Therefore, we can only wait and see how the film will go in a specific direction. Filming which has already started might clarify some things in the near future, and further news can be expected from the director and the team updates later next year.

Interesting Points
One of the interesting points in this film is that Ethan Hawke will officially come back as The Grabber, which may not be only a return of the character who is not dead but also may present some new stories related to kidnapping and talking over the phone in an interesting way. This behind-the-scenes photo time may be the signal for some changes in store to influence the sequel, and so fans need to watch out for the rest.
Though the sequel is still in its developing stage, it’s easy to see that The Black Phone 2 will go on in an intriguing manner. The first movie achieved proper revenue and positive feedback from viewers, therefore the second should attract much attention as a result of actors and characters known to fans are back.
Fans of The Black Phone are likely to eagerly look for new information revealed both by Derrickson and team updates and a range of behind the scenes images that may clear up some doubts and give a better picture of this movie.
