has obtained provisional approval for air travel from New York to Tokyo.

Commencing at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and terminating at Tokyo’s Haneda Airport (HND), this flight path will be exclusively serviced by American Airlines, marking the sole U.S. carrier providing nonstop connectivity between JFK and HND.

This recent itinerary harmonizes with the existing services facilitated by America’s collaborative business ally, Japan Airlines.

The provisional approval, conferred by the United States Department of Transportation, is anticipated to transition into a permanent status within the forthcoming months.

“American eagerly anticipates the initiation of nonstop services to Tokyo’s Haneda Airport from JFK,” expressed American’s CEO, Robert Isom. “We extend our gratitude to the DOT and appreciate the endorsement of our application by our partner, Japan Airlines. Collaboratively, we are strategically positioned to furnish customers with a comprehensive network bridging two of the most resilient economies globally.

The introduction of this novel service will contribute nearly 200,000 additional round-trip seats annually between the U.S. and Japan, providing customers with diversified avenues to engage in global business activities or connect with family and friends.”

Asia has emerged as a premier international destination for U.S. markets.

American presently conducts daily flights to Tokyo from its central hub in Dallas-Fort Worth and operates two daily flights departing from Los Angeles. Subsequently, New York emerged as a logical preference for the airline.

“America extends its gratitude to the DOT for tentatively endorsing our application to operate the exclusive nonstop U.S. carrier service linking JFK and Haneda Airport,” conveyed Molly Wilkinson, America’s Vice President of Regulatory and International Government Affairs. “We acknowledge the robust bipartisan support from elected officials in New York.”

The journey from New York to Tokyo forms only a fragment of America’s overarching strategy to broaden its international footprint.
