Jurassic World – The upcoming instalment in the Jurassic World franchise has not only secured a release date but is also rumoured to have a director with a proven track record in the action genre. According to Deadline, David Leitch is currently in consideration to helm the project, slated to hit theatres on Wednesday, July 2, 2025.
Leitch, known for his directorial work on projects like John Wick (co-directed with Chad Stahelski), Atomic Blonde, Deadpool 2, Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, and Bullet Train, brings a wealth of experience in delivering high-octane action sequences to the table.
The last movie in the Jurassic World series to grace theatres was Jurassic World Dominion, released in 2022. Directed by Colin Trevorrow, the film marked the return of familiar faces, including Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Jake Johnson, Omar Sy, Daniella Pineda, Justice Smith, and BD Wong. Adding to the excitement, original Jurassic Park stars Laura Dern, Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum, and Campbell Scott also joined the cast.
Colin Trevorrow, who directed Jurassic World Dominion, co-wrote the screenplay with Emily Carmichael, based on a story crafted by Derek Conolly and Trevorrow, the same duo behind the first two Jurassic World films. Executive producers for the film included Trevorrow, Steven Spielberg, and Alexandra Derbyshire.
As anticipation builds for the next chapter in the Jurassic World saga, fans can look forward to an action-packed experience under the potential direction of David Leitch when the movie arrives in theatres in July 2025.
