The manga of My Hero Academia is over, but the magic is far from over. Recently, Kohei Horikoshi released a new one-shot. This one-shot was created specifically to promote the upcoming movie, My Hero Academia: You’re Next. I thought it was brand new and quite exciting. The story focuses on Class 1-A, based on Deku’s notebook.

Deku’s notebook contains all the notes he made, which takes us all into their inner world. When I read it, I thought it makes the beginning of Season 7 more interesting. Deku is spending time with his classmates, and his dark hero look is quite impressive. Some of the classmates are very curious to know about his notes.

This chapter is only 7 pages long, but it covers a lot. It’s important to understand the characters’ situation because it sets up everything for the movie. Reading the one-shot made me feel like I was in that world myself. You can also read it on Viz’s Shonen Jump app. It has a very special weave, which takes us back to that wonderful world.

There was a time when All Might, known as the symbol of peace, was everywhere. I often think about how the era of this symbol slowly came to an end. Now, it’s the students’ turn. I opened my suitcase. In it, I kept many things that probably don’t seem important anymore. There are some mysterious things going to be revealed in this season finale. Will that briefcase play some kind of role? I don’t know. But I’m sure the story centers on All Might.

Heard of Dark Might? I think he’s very special. At the end of the movie, we are introduced to new characters. Giulio Gandini and Anna Scervino are also there. His appearance is just a cameo. But still, he gives a different experience. When I first saw Dark Might, I was shocked. His muscular form reminded me of All Might. But now those powers are gone. It makes me wonder if through the movie we will face someone with All Might’s abilities.

The students of Class 1-A look up to All Might as if he is a god. Sometimes, this respect becomes their weakness. I remember when Deku and Bakugo were up against All Might. They were so scared. I saw that their respect, sometimes, also makes them weak. But now, that time has passed. Now they have grown up a lot. Deku’s biggest challenge is to overcome his fear. Will he be able to show respect for his mentor’s power?

When I thought over this idea, I realized that just because someone has All Might’s face and powers, it doesn’t mean he is invincible. This will be hard for Deku to understand. He has to face his last big mental barriers. He has to face his fears in battle, that’s important.

I think all of these ideas will be addressed very well in the My Hero Academia: You’re Next movie. All the characters’ stories and struggles show us how fear and respect are intertwined. It’s already hard to wait for this movie. Will Deku overcome his challenge? I hope so.
