Recent reports sparked speculation about Kevin Conroy’s involvement in the upcoming animated series Batman: Caped Crusader. Despite initial rumours suggesting Conroy had recorded dialogue for the series, co-creator and producer Bruce Timm clarified on the AnimeSuperhero.com forum that Conroy did not record any dialogue for the show before his passing.

Timm stated, “Kevin Conroy did not record a voice for CAPED CRUSADER. We were hoping to have him do a voice for the new show (and he was eager to do it) but sadly he passed away before we could make it happen.” The statement dispels the earlier rumours and highlights the challenges of navigating unverified information in the entertainment industry.

The news comes in the wake of reports suggesting Conroy had recorded dialogue for Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths – Part 3, an animated crossover movie. While not officially confirmed by DC, this potential posthumous performance in the Crisis trilogy could serve as a fitting tribute to Conroy’s legacy as the voice of Batman.

Timm urged caution regarding unverified information in the entertainment industry, stating, “Take all un-sourced ‘news’ items in the sci-fi/comics/entertainment cybersphere with a huge grain of salt. Occasionally these ‘leaks’ actually turn out to be true, but often as not they’re just cynical clickbait.”
